June 2008. Adriel discovered two very young birds (Grackles) near our farm which had fallen from their nest. We
made local inquiries to see if there was anyone who was equipt to take proper care of him and help him back into
the wild.  That was when we found Christine and Todd at  'A Place Called Hope' just a few miles away from us.
They run a rehab center for raptors.  These two people along with some volunteer helpers do an amazing job for
the injured raptors in our part of Connecticut. I vote them among the GOOD PEOPLE.
Winter 2009-2010 Synthia caught sight of an amazing Barred Owl injured on the side of a highway near her
practice.  She called me and I went straight away but could not find the bird. I assumed it had pulled itself away
into undergrowth. Weeks later during very severe cold weather she spotted him again badly dehydrated and
injured. I called Christine who came straight away to remove him from his last perching place.  He was too
seriously injured in his mouth to keep alive. He could not eat and was slowing starving - a very sad situation.
