THE SAD PASSING OF DAVID KINGSTON

A line to let you all know that David Kingston passed away this afternoon.
His good friend Stewart Langdown will be later putting round further
details to David's list but I am sending this in case some in my address
list, are not on it.

As I understand it David discovered a year or so ago that he had cancer
which finally involved his lungs, stomach and brain.

His wife Mary and his family were at his bedside today.

David was a tireless worker for truth and through his website,
conferences and lectures, encouraged a great number of people to go
on their own explorations of the mysteries of the universe.

Now David is en route to uncovering one of the greatest mysteries of all
and we wish him a fond bon voyage on his last great journey.

Please remember Mary and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

UPDATES:

Dear All,

My name is Iain Ashton and like so many of you a long term friend of
David Kingston.

I have been asked by Mary, David’s wife and the immediate family to
pass on the following sad news to you all.

I know that many of you already know that 3 weeks ago David was
admitted into Dorset County Hospital after suddenly collapsing at home.
Not long after this, David was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

David being David and with his family's full support, took himself off to
the comfort of his own home to be with his wife Mary, immediate family
and friends.

After only 3 weeks and having been so lovingly cared for and in such a
special way by Mary, David so sadly, but so very peacefully passed
away on Thursday the 19th February 2009 in the late afternoon.

David's Funeral will be held on Friday the 27th February 2009 at 1pm
Weymouth Crematorium, Quibo Lane, Weymouth in Dorset.

David has asked not for Flowers, but should you feel inspired to do so,
a donation to the Royal National Life Boat Institution (RNLI). These can
be sent to, Grassby Funeral Service, 8 Princes Street, Dorchester,
Dorset, England. DT1 1TW   01305 262338

I will on the request of the family, from time to time be keeping my eye
on David's e-mail account and will if possible respond to your comments
or pass on your words to Mary and the family.

On behalf of David and his family

Iain Ashton

==========================

Dear all,

Mary has asked me to perform Davids Humanist funeral which is
somewhat daunting but as a very dear friend I never hesitated in saying
yes.

The day has been set for Friday 27th February at Weymouth
crematorium 1pm If any of you have any messages or thoughts of David
you would  like to share with those at his service then please can you e
mail me.

I know this is a difficult time with the loss of 2 great men in the
Crop circle fraternity but if you can spend the time to write I'm sure
Mary would be eternally grateful.

Many thanks

 =============================

Dear Stewart

Thank you for this opportunity to send some sincere words to express
myself during this terrible week.

I first corresponded with David, in the mid 1980s when he made contact
with me regarding his interest in the crop circles and indeed his wider
interests in UFOs and more.

His background and his maturity of mind along with that too rare breed
of folk who are prepared to step forward to walk the talk, made David a
key communicator and facilitator of several unusual topics. Thousands
have him to thank for the enrichment of knowledge he arranged.

His quiet demeanor was capable of hiding him but what mattered shone
through and with commitment and selflessness.  I have admired David
mainly from a distance of miles but with unspoken gratitude that he did
what he did for us all, along with his loyal and loving wife Mary.  I wish I
could have held his hand and told him this face to face but like many
before me, sometimes fail in this regard.  Belatedly David, Thank you.

May I express from this side of the Atlantic my most sincere condolences
to Mary and the family and friends at the end of this unexpected and
unfair end of this road for David.  Prayers and warm support remain
until the next meeting place beyond is arranged.
