A large television, radio and print media covering of Operation Blackbird
at Bratton Castle, England, during 1990.

As many as 100 TV programs around the world came out of the site
during the ten day operation.  Even the British national weather forecast
was transmitted from Blackbird.
                OPERATION BLACKBIRD

Was a surveillance operation covering a period from the July 23 - August 12, 1990. The
project was aimed at filming a crop circle forming for the first time.  This location was on
high ground owned by the Ministry of Defence (M.o.D.) overlooking fields where crop
circles appeared more regularly than anywhere else on earth, at that time.  That location
was between the villages of Bratton and Westbury near Warminster in Wiltshire, England.

The project was planned by Colin Andrews, Pat Delgado, BBC Television, and Nippon
Television with the help of the M.O.D.  Andrews data enabled the location to be chosen and
he co-ordinated the operation.

It has been widely speculated that the entire story about what took place over the period of
the project has never been fully revealed. Millions watched it on TV from around the world
but it was a hoax that caught the headlines. A hoax with many twists which a future article
will address.

In the interest of full disclosure, its important to start here by revealing that a second covert
surveillance operation also took place at the same time as Blackbird. The Army themselves
undertook surveillance around Silbury Hill, just 19 miles away from the Blackbird site.
What they secured was a video film of a large bright orb over fields to the south of the
Silbury hill and also they filmed with low light cameras a group of six men entering a field in
the vicinity around mid-night. A link to this frame grab is coming shortly.

When the C.P.R. video archive has been transferred onto DVD, the remaining material will
also be available here.
                            CAN YOU HELP?
SIDE NOTE:
Colin has been given very generous help to copy the entire VHS library to
DVD for the survival of the aged tapes - this project is underway now but only the NTSC
format  tapes can currently be copied.  If there is anyone able to assist with providing a
PAL to DVD player/Recorder, to complete this work it would be wonderful.

GWR Radio and the Government D Notice
...............................................................................
Dave Barrett
GWR radio was one of the first of many media to visit Operation Blackbird. Their outside broadcast vehicle (seen with
tower mast above) was in position and ready to cover the moment that Colin Andrews and Pat Delgado entered the
field to look at the new crop circle formation which appeared in front of the bank of special cameras. Looking through
binoculars from the control vehicle (black hut seen above) the report was that there was something seen in the center
of the circle.  This followed reports from observers at 4.0 AM that morning, that a triangular array of lights hovered
over the field.

As dawn broke, Colin and Pat entered the field.  TV cameras were kept out of the field as four military aircraft
suddenly came in from the east and flew at low level directly over their heads.  GWR radio was about to go live to air
when the station received a D notice from the M.o.D. to stop all transmissions.  Well known television and radio
presenter Dave Barrett was back in the studio and has confirmed to me that the D notice was indeed served on them.
This has been refuted by the former head of the British Governments UFO Project at the Ministry of Defence, Nick
Pope in a
2006 article written by him. Read Colin's rebuttal and full article on the Crop Circles, UFOs and the
Government.
