Colin,
Been interested in paranormal activity and UFO's/crop circles for many years
but wasn't until picking a copy of nexus magazine years ago that i started to
learn more; this left me wanting answers! I find it all extremely fascinating.
Just recently been looking up more info on the internet come across your
website among others and had watched a video of a talk by Steven Greer who
mentions about groups who had "Meditated" and asked for UFO's to show
themselves. He mentions you are friends hence the reason for contacting you.
So, with all this stuff in my head my girlfriend and i are out walking (On Sunday
28th of June) at around 1.30. We reach the summit of Creag Mhigeachaidh (We
live in the scottish highlands) and are looking in a North South direction over to
Loch Insh (3-4 miles away). That day we didn't see any birds at all, however,
there were some flies around about the size of a blue bottle. The view was
fantastic. We could see down to the landing strip in a field of the Cairngorm
gliding club which had initially bought us to this location.
I thought to myself wouldn't it be amazing to see something buzz across the
sky...maybe even get a picture of "It"???....
So i take a picture of the view (With my 3 megapixel mobile phone), as it was so
nice, and am thinking of posting it/them on my Facebook profile.
A couple of days later i download the images and to my surprise find this object
on one of the pictures.
That day we had seen no birds at all and especially this close. There were
however some flies around but after reaching the top the wind was strong and i
remember feeling relieved as they were a pain because they buzz around your
head.
If it is a fly moving from left to right or vice'versa then surely one of the edges
should be blurred? Both are blurred! Ok, so the object is coming towards us or
moving away? So why the blurred edges? There is also something sticking out
of the top of the object.
If you darken the picture (Or tilt your laptop screen) the object looks like it has
cut through the cloud and has left a trace or trail; look closely at the darkened
edges of the cloud nearest the object coming out of it.
Even more intriguing is when one zooms in to view the object it has a darker
core and it's SPECKLED!??? Surely, if it's travelling fast past the camera and
it's this close the image should be completely blurred? Shouldn't it?
I can't remember any flies buzzing around my head at the point of taking this
photo!
Colin, feel free to add or remove any parts of this email. If anyone wishes to
contact me they can do using this email address.
If you need any more info please don't hesitate to ask. Whilst i think of it, when
are you coming to Inverness??? Unfortunately this part of the world doesn't get
many talks or presentations! I work at Glenmore Lodge (In the Cairngorm
national park), maybe this could be a good venue.
Anyway, i look forward to hearing from you. Take care.
Kind Regards
Alex

Colin Andrews:
I sent the image to Dr. Bruce Maccabee for his expert opinion and this is it:
I note two things:
1) he didn't notice the object when he took the photo, so he was not
photographing the "whatever it was"
2) the main blur lies along a lone such that the "leading and lagging edges" (left
and right ends of the image) are greatly blurred, whereas the edges
perpendicular to the blurred edges (namely the top and bottom) are quite sharp.
Regarding #2, this is the classic effect of blur due to rapid image motion of an
opaque object during the shutter time.
If the object were simply out of focus all edges would be blurred. I would razored
a guess that this was some small object (fly) that was in the field of view of the
lens at the time of =0 Athe photo. I don't know what the effective shutter speed
was, but an insect can move fast enough, when close to the lens, to make a
blurred image like this during typical shutter times.
If it is an insect this would explain why he didn't notice it as being in the field of
view of the camera at the time.
At any rate, the blur is so great as to make it very difficult to determine the exact
shape. There does appear to be some faint image of an "appendage" at the
top, but this could be something like a wing that appeared for only a short time
during the exposure.
Bottom line is I wouldn't claim that this is evidence of an ET vehicle zipping by or
whatever=2 0truly anomalous phenomenon one might suggest.
